Book online, choose your run, pack your bike into a suitable bike bag and we’ll handle the transport.

How It Works

You drive. We carry the bikes.

Maydena Bike Transport is a dedicated bike and luggage transport service between Hobart Airport and Maydena.

You collect your own hire car from Hobart Airport and travel independently, while we transport your packed bikes and booked luggage separately.

That means you don’t need to hire a large vehicle just to fit bike bags, riders and luggage — and once you arrive in Tasmania, you still have your own car to explore Hobart, New Norfolk and the surrounding area.

Arriving in Tasmania

1. Pack your bike securely into a suitable bike bag and fly into Hobart as normal.

2. After landing, collect your pre-booked hire car from Hobart Airport, then meet us at the arranged meeting point.

3. We’ll load your packed bikes and booked luggage into our vehicle for transport to Maydena.

From there, you can:

- head straight to Maydena

- stop in Hobart or New Norfolk along the way

- collect supplies, food or anything else you need

- or simply follow us to Maydena

We’ll deliver your bikes to your booked accommodation or campground in the Maydena area.

Heading Home

Booked a return trip?

On your departure day, we’ll meet you at your Maydena accommodation or campground and collect your packed bikes and booked luggage.

You travel back toward Hobart Airport in your hire car while we transport the bikes separately.

We’ll arrange the timing so your bikes are back at Hobart Airport ready to meet you before your flight.

A Few Important Things

Up to 4 bikes per booking‍ ‍

Travelling as a group? Share the booking and split the cost between riders.

Bike bags are required‍ ‍

All bikes must be packed securely in suitable bike bags for transport.

E-bikes are welcome‍ ‍

E-bikes can be transported, provided they are packed appropriately and comply with your airline’s requirements.

No passenger transport‍ ‍

Maydena Bike Transport does not transport passengers. You and your group travel independently in your own hire car.
